The Sioux Indian Nation's Treaty Council, has filed a lawsuit against the Angel Valley Retreat Center where 2 sweat lodge participants died, and where 19 others had to be taken to a hospital where a third participant also died.

The lawsuit names 7 defendants, including self-anointed guru
James Arthur Ray, who led that fatal sweat lodge ceremony.

The lawsuit's core is centered on the 1868 treaty between the Sioux Indian Nation and the Federal Government, which states that the Angel Valley Retreat Center violated this 1868 treaty by desecrating the sacretness of the sweat lodge....by causing 3 deaths....by destroying all evidence of this event....and by having also violated the United Nations' Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People's entitlement to full control of their cultural and intellectual property.
